GPS Genius

How good is this position, really? A plain answer — then every number behind it.

A ring means your phone is using that satellite. Bigger is stronger. Colour is the constellation.

The first thing you see

Is this good?

A five-step grade, held for three seconds so it never flickers. The raw accuracy sits next to it, so you can disagree.

The part most GPS apps get wrong

Nothing leaves the phone

No server. No account. No analytics. Location is read only while the app is open and on screen.

  • Foreground onlyNo background location permission. No foreground service. Leave, and it stops.
  • No trackingNo ads, no crash SDK, no advertising identifier. There is nothing to opt out of.
  • Saved on devicePlaces and sessions stay in the app’s private storage, excluded from cloud backup.

Three things that matter

Short answers

Will this make my GPS more accurate?

No app can. Accuracy is your hardware, the satellites overhead, and what is between them. GPS Genius tells you honestly how good the fix is, and which of those three is letting you down.

Does it track me in the background?

It cannot. There is no background location permission and no foreground service, so Android will not give it your position unless the app is open and on screen.

Is Pro a paid mode?

No. Simple and Pro are both free. The one-time unlock is only for files you take away — GPX, CSV, the PDF report, NMEA capture, backups. Full detail in the terms.

Every satellite your phone can hear.I read the sky. You decide whether to trust it.
